I have been fascinated with the story of St. Elizabeth of Hungary, in particular the miracle of the roses...

Elizabeth, Queen of Hungary, dedicated her life to the poor and hungry. Her husband, Louis, ordered her to stop and forbade her giving bread from the palace kitchens.

One winter's day, Louis came upon her in the street, carrying bread in her cloak. He confronted her and demanded to see what she was hiding.

She opened her cloak and out tumbled hundreds of roses...
